A sellers' market is exactly the opposite - the number of interested buyers greatly outweigh the number of available homes for sale. With the supply greatly exceeding the demand, buyers will have to compete for the homes they want. When this happens, buyers may be forced to pay higher prices and make decisions more quickly or they risk losing the home to someone else. This situation is known as a "sellers' market" because sellers can wait for the best offers.
