Colorado Springs Community Garden Information

Spring is here, and there's no better way to celebrate its arrival than to talk gardens! Whether you're into beautifying your landscaping, simply enjoy gardening as a hobby, or garden for the fruits of your labor, gardening is a hobby that many people love getting into. Sometimes, though, space in your yard can prevent you from being able to create the garden you've been dreaming of. The MacGuire Team can help you find the home of your dreams that provides the space you need to grow that perfect garden. But, if buying isn't in the plans right now, we're sharing with you some great local community gardens that you can rent a plot from!

Duckwood Community Gardens
Duckwood Community Garden in Fountain Creek Regional Park is our new community garden in Fountain. Created in partnership with the El Paso County Parks system, PPUG offers 40 raised bed plots and 4 large in-ground plots. Farm hydrants are located throughout the garden for easy access.

Harlan Wolfe Ranch
This property is a historic homestead that sits on a 4-acre city park straddling Cheyenne Creek. There is an old brick house build in 1896 that is currently being restored. This garden is located at 915 W Cheyenne Blvd. To view available plots at Harlan Wolfe Ranch, click here.

Vermijo Community Garden
Vermijo Community Garden was built in an underutilized section of Vermijo Park in Old Colorado City. Vermijo is undergoing a revitalization in 2019 to rebuild the raised beds, improve walkways and access for differently-abled gardeners, and to add a seating area for gardeners to enjoy. Plots sizes and arrangements vary slightly, but all contain raised beds. To view available plots at Vermijo, click here.

Mid Shooks Run
Mid Shooks Run Community Gardens is located on the corner of Boulder and El Paso Street, across the street from the PPUG office at the Sustainacenter! This garden is our newest garden that neighbors the trail. This garden has a beautiful greenhouse dome donated by Dome Creations. To view available plots at Mid Shooks Run, click here.

Fire Station 21
Constructed in 2015 by local firefighters, volunteers students and families from Imagine Classical Academy nearby, the Fire Station 21 Community Garden is our garden on the east side of Colorado Springs. Firefighters at the station utilize a handful of plots, the rest are gardened by local community members. Each plot consists of three raised beds with nearby farm hydrants for watering. This community garden boasts one of the best views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range. To view available plots at Fire Station 21, click here.

Charmaine Nymann Community Garden
Located on two acres in Bear Creek Park, the garden consists of 104 full size plots. The garden is surrounded by a five-foot high fence with seven gates. An underground network of water pipes delivers city water to faucets located adjacent to each group of four plots. To view available plots at Charmaine Nymann, click here.

Westside Community Center Garden
The purpose of this community garden is to help people learn how to grow their own food, build community by working together, and to demonstrate regenerative practices that benefit the land and people. In addition to caring for the beds, there will be a community work day scheduled each week (days and times tba). These will double as educational times where you will learn by doing the tasks.  Some of the topics that will be covered include soil amending, planting, seed starting, mulching, weeding, pest management, plant diseases, composting, and harvesting. Old Farm Community Gardens
Old Farm Community Gardens is a 2.5 acre site located in the hills of the Old Farm subdivision in Colorado Springs, CO. There are 58 plots. We have an open membership to any person or family that wishes to garden.  We encourage organic garden methods. To cover the cost of water and insurance there is an annual fee based on the size of the plot. To learn more about available plots at Old Farm, click here.
